Practical Information

Conference language

The official language of the conference is English. All plenary sessions will be in English, as well as the majority of all parallel sessions. Two sessions each day will be in Dutch and French.

Translation into Dutch and French will be guaranteed in all plenary sessions.

Currency

The currency in Belgium is the euro (EUR). Credit cards are widely accepted in Belgium.

Climate

Belgium enjoys a temperate climate. The weather is generally pleasant in May, but can be unpredictable. You should bring an umbrella and some warm clothing.

Electricity

The electrical current in Belgium is 220 volts (50Hz). Plugs and sockets are the same as in the other continental countries of the European Union. If your equipment requires different voltage, you will need an electrical transformer.

Insurance

Please check the validity of your own insurance. The conference organisers cannot accept liability for personal injuries sustained or loss of/damage to property belonging to conference delegates or accompanying persons.

How to get to MCE (Management Center Europe): 

Airport transfer service

MCE offers you the possibility to reserve your personal pick-up service at the price of a normal taxi. If you reserve this service now, your driver will be waiting for you upon your arrival at Brussels Zaventem airport. The fare from the airport to your hotel in Brussels or to MCE is EUR 40. The return fare is EUR 37. Fares are payable directly to your driver (credit cards accepted).

All you need to do to make your reservation is to fill out and submit the Airport Collection Service booking form, at the latest one working day before your pick-up date. A confirmation will be sent to you as soon as your booking has been processed.

Getting to MCE by public transport

From Izan Hotel, Holiday Inn and NH Hoteles (15 minutes)
Walk to "Place Stephanie". From here you can take a tram 94 (direction "HERRMANN-DEBROUX"). Get off at the 3rd stop - Av. Louize / BAILLI. From here you can walk to the MCE building -

From Citadines Sainte Catherine Hotel (30 minutes)
Walk to the metro station "Sainte Catherine". Take the Metro 1A ((direction "HERRMANN-DEBROUX") and get off at the station "Arts-Loi".Take metro line 2 (direction Delacroix) and stop at metro-station "Louiza".From here you can take a tram 94 (direction "HERRMANN-DEBROUX"). Get off at the 3rd stop - Av. Louize / BAILLI. From here you can walk to the MCE building -

From Hotel Chatelain and White Hotel (5 minutes)
These hotels are at walking distance from the MCE. Walk to the tram station Louize/Bailli.
Then follow the MAP.

From Brussels Central Station
Take bus no. 60 (estimated time 30 min ) and ask the driver to stop at "rue Américaine". You get off at a square which is surrounded by trees called Place Albert. Leemans. From there, MCE is within walking distance : MAP


From Brussels Midi / Zuid

Take metro line 2, direction Simonis, and stop at the 3rd metro-station "Louiza". From here you can take a tram 94 (direction "HERRMANN-DEBROUX"). Get off at the 3rd stop - Av.Louize/BAILLI. From here you can walk to the MCE building -

From Brussels Midi, you can also take tram line 81 or 82, direction "Montgomery" (estimated time 20 minutes ). Get off at la Trinité. From here you can walk to the MCE building - MAP.

Finding a parking place might be difficult arround the MCE. We advise to use public transport

Walk to the metro station "Sainte Catherine". Take the Metro 1B ((direction "Stockel") and exit at "Arts-Loi / Kunst-Wet" Change to Line 2 (Direction "Delacroix") exit at "Louise/Louiza". From there, allow a 5 minutes' walk MAP

Walk to the tram station "Bailli". Take the tram 94 (Direction Stade) and get off at tram station "Louise". MAP
