Call for papers

The Scientific Committee welcomes the submission of contributions for oral presentations and “5 minute oral poster presentations” on one of the following topics:

A. QUALITY OF LIFE 
 Dementia care in rural areas
 Education and training of volunteers and professionals
 Assistance and support for people with dementia and their carers
 Dementia in a multicultural society
 Innovative living arrangements for people with dementia
 New technologies - security and autonomy
 Younger people with dementia 
 
B. POLITICAL - FINANCIAL

 Lobbying for change - the experience of Alzheimer associations
 Policy initiatives in favour of people with dementia and their carers
 The cost of dementia for people with dementia and their carers
 Meeting the cost of dementia (long-term care insurance and other solutions)

C. LEGAL - ETHICAL
 End of life, palliative care, Advance directives
 Ethics and research (consent, genetic testing)
 The legal rights of people with dementia (patients' rights)
 Guardianship systems and proxy decision making
 
The abstracts must be written in English and will be selected on the basis of novelty. The use of trade names must be avoided.
 
The presentation time for oral presentations will be 20 minutes, discussion included.
 

"Oral poster presentations" will be limited to 5 minutes and a maximum of three slides.
 
Authors are asked to submit the title and a 250-350 word abstract of their presentation. Only electronic form submissions via the conference website will be accepted.

The author information form must accompany each abstract.

Deadlines:

Submission of abstracts: 14 January , 2009
 
Late submissions will not be accepted for oral presentations, but may be accepted as “oral poster presentations".
 
Notification of acceptance 16 February 2009
